With in-house training, we provide the training, where and when it suits you.
We work with you to understand your workplace and your mental health training needs.
We can deliver Mental Health First Aid Australia’s courses tailored to your workplace, or we can develop customised mental health training workshops for your organisation.
Mental Health First Aid provides people with a practical, evidence-based plan, giving your employees the skills and confidence to have supportive conversations with their co-workers and help guide them to professional help if needed.
It increases knowledge and creates a culture of awareness and acceptance in the workplace.
It will also help staff support friends and family members who may be experiencing mental health issues.
Your staff members can become Mental Health First Aid officers and you may be eligible to become a Mental Health First Aid Australia “Skilled Workplace”.
Flexibly delivery options such as the Blended Mental Health First Aid for the Workplace are available. This combines e-learning with a face-to-face component that is a cost and time effective way of getting your staff trained in mental health first aid.
If the mental health first aid courses don’t provide the specific training your organisation requires, we can work with you to develop training that meets your needs. We can deliver face to face workshops, seminars, and include take-home learning for your staff members.
Additional resources are provided on the day, along with the Standard Mental Health First Aid latest edition manual
We recommend 15 participants per session for the best learning experience, however, we can accommodate up to 20 participants
We are available for in-house or off-site training across the Sydney Metropolitan or Melbourne regions, or alternatively you can send staff members to public training courses with group prices available.
“Mental Health First Aid Australia’s Skilled Workplace Program”
“Your staff members can become Mental Health First Aid officers and you may be eligible to become a Mental Health First Aid Australia “Skilled Workplace”.
The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia’s Skilled Workplace Program recognises workplaces for their commitment to Mental Health First Aid training.
It is MHFA Australia’s way of celebrating organisations across Australia who not only invest in developing mental health first aid skills in their people, but also show a strong commitment to embedding the program into their organisation’s culture; through actions like senior leadership support, relevant policies, supporting Mental Health First Aid Officers and continuous improvement.
Appointing Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Officers in your workplace is a positive way to demonstrate that your organisation cares about individual well-being. MHFA Officers are trained to provide initial informal support to other employees in the workplace, outside of Human Resources and Workplace Health & Safety departments. They can complement formal support services, like Employee Assistance Programs.”
Participating in the MHFA Skilled Workplace Program is a clear demonstration of your commitment to building a mentally healthy workplace, both to your staff and your external stakeholders.
Many organisations, businesses and Government departments participate in the program, and the full list can be found at https://mhfa.com.au/skilled-workplaces.
You will receive a certificate, an electronic badge that can be displayed on your website & email signature, have your company logo displayed on the MHFA Skilled Workplaces website, and your company will be recognised in the MHFA Australia Annual Report and may appear across a range of our public communication channels.
Workplaces report that being recognised as an MHFA Skilled Workplace has contributed to staff valuing the role and skills of Mental Health First Aiders and helped them to embed the MHFA program in their workplace.”
Empowered Lives can give you additional information about the program and support you in implementing the program in your workplace.
